[ something is recording, it's possible to tell by that faint... rustle and buzz that is present even when no actual sound is made to be recorded and just faintly there's the sound of wind and leaves rustling... But he's not saying anything. Probably unintentionally set the journal to record voice and didn't know how to turn it off.

There are things he wants to ask, he just doesn't know quite where to start. Hyoga seems to realise he's being recorded after a couple minutes of silence...there is still more silence but his gaze is at least fixed on the camera.

Why is there a camera in a book? It is one of many things he doesn't understand. Finally the recording stops and instead there's a neatly written post. ]

How many people live in that village? [ hopefully there's only one village, he was only able to find one...sense one really. Sense where most people seem to be. ]

Are any of the people here native to this place? [ it didn't look like it from what he listened to/read.

And he ends it there. There's a lot more he wants to ask but maybe it'd be better if he could get someone one on one. This is him awkwardly reaching out. ]

[Ikki just... Laughs at Hyoga. Okay, it's not really a laugh, mostly a rumbling chuckle, but he doesn't bother to hide it or the smirk he has in his face. He doesn't bother with an answer... Yet.]

[ he'd be offended but it's probably the kindest kind of laughing at Ikki has ever engaged in (that he knows of) so he just doesn't comment. ]

[Ikki smirks and... Switches to Greek himself, not that it sounds any different to Hyoga though if he stretches his hearing he may notice it.]

Russian, something in this place helps us understand each other regardless of language but you're saying that the same applies to the language of animals?

There's something here that acts like a translator, no matter what language you use, everyone will understand it. And that includes animals, even if they don't say much sometimes.

[He smirks again looking at his wolf, who in exchange turns and stares at him as if knowing what Ikki is implying.]

If you pay attention you can notice when someone switches languages and even recognize it if you know it. But normally the translation takes over. Or did you think that everyone here talked Russian?

I assumed the book was translating. [ it does plenty of weird stuff. And also looks at the wolf. Why would you want to talk to him? :| ]

[Because back home none of you could. Or didn't have permission for it. Here there are less places for him to go to and it's pointless to keep away from Hyoga when he's dealing with other people already.

Ikki just smirks and turns to continue his walk, patting his thigh with one hand so the puppy leaves Hyoga and follows him. You weren't expecting him to say good bye, right? Unless Hyoga actually has anything else to say Ikki will just continue his walk.]
